SoliBoard PCW35 HT-Grade

SoliBoard™ PCW35 HT-Grade

The SoliBoard™ High Temp Series consists of boards which are designed for a special purposes in high temperature applications. Developed for extreme durability, high temperature performance and fit for the most demanding applications. SoliBoard PCW blended boards are the first step up from the standard RCF boards, but without the costs of a pure PCW fiber based boards.

SoliBoard™ PCW35 HT is ‘little brother’ of the SoliBoard PCW80 HT INO-grade, and likewise combining the advantages of polycrystalline Wool (PCW) fibers with the unique features of the SoliWool™ HA. Delivering minimum shrinkage at high temperature exposure, high temperature stability up to 1500°C, but without the costs of pure PCW boards.

Next to the SoliBoard™ PCW Blended grades we also offer a standard range of RCF(-Zr) Boards from 1260°C to 1430°C and the famous low bio persistence grade (LBP) families; SoliBoard™ ULS® and SoliBoard™ NXT®.

Description

Introducing Vulcor’s SoliBoard range, manufactured on our state-of-the-art production line, a result of years of expertise and engineering excellence. Our manufacturing process sets us apart from the competition, and here’s why:

SoliBoard is produced on our continuous board line, measuring approximately 400 meter in length and a fixed production width of 1200 mm. This cutting-edge line, established in 2019, incorporates the latest standards and utilizes low-energy consumption drying technology, a unique advantage in our industry. This enables us to deliver exceptional quality while maintaining high output capabilities.

Our highly efficient drying technology reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional forced air drying methods. It empowers us to manufacture uniform, lightweight, low shot, and stable boards up to 100 mm in thickness, consistently meeting the highest standards of quality and performance. In a world where reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions is part of sustainable environmental drivers, it is good to realise that we have already taken the first step.

SoliBoard™ PCW35 HT is combining the advantages of polycrystalline Wool (PCW) fibers with the unique features of the SoliWool HA. Delivering minimum shrinkage at high temperature exposure, high temperature stability up to 1500°C, but without the costs of pure PCW boards. Delivering minimum shrinkage at high temperature exposure, high temperature stability up to 1500°C and 1370°C, but without the costs of pure PCW boards.

SoliBoard™ PCW Blended grade products are a competitive solution in these applications where standard RCF boards are facing the limits of their safe continuous use. Targeted to deliver the highest possible thermal insulation value and handling strength.  The combination of the two types of fiber are delivering best of both worlds.

Vulcor provides an extensive range of high-temperature board products, including:

  • Standard boards
  • Inorganic binder boards which give lower LOI% and off-gassing
  • High-strength series with superior green strength and post-firing strength
  • Special series made from mixed fiber chemistries, often utilizing highly temperature-resistant PCW fibers, for the most demanding applications.

SoliBoard PCW35 HT still contains a small amount of organic binder to enhance cold handling strength, which burns out during the initial firing at approximately 250°C.

Benefits

  • Excellent insulation performance
  • Cost effective solution versus pure PCW boards
  • Can be used in direct flame contact
  • Low shrinkage
  • Excellent thermal stability

Typical applications

  • Thermal insulation for furnace linings
  • Chemical resistant lining in furnaces operating in reducing atmospheres
  • Laboratory and dental kilns
  • Lining combustion chamber for gas fired boilers and heaters
  • General technical insulation of furnaces and technical installations
