SoliBoard ZR-Grade

SoliBoard ZR-Grade

SoliBoard™ ZR-Grade

Our standard Refractory Ceramic Fiber based SoliBoard™ product range consists of 3 types, with a classification temperatures of 2300°F till 2600°F. Manufactured using our Ultra Low Shot technology these boards are delivering a better performance compared to traditional refractory ceramic fiber based boards. SoliBoard™ can be used for a wide range of application in refractory linings or in domestic appliances.

SoliBoard ZR-Grade is our highest rated Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF) based board with a classification temperature of 2600°F and providing solutions in applications continuously operating till 2400°F. SoliBoard ZR-grade is manufactured using SoliBulk ZR-grade with selected inorganic and organic fillers to deliver high strength and performance in refractory linings. The SoliBoard ZR-grade secures minimum shrinkage to temperatures close to classification temperature as result from the high Zirconia contents and microstructure.

Description

Introducing Vulcor’s SoliBoard range, manufactured on our state-of-the-art production line, a result of years of expertise and engineering excellence. Our manufacturing process sets us apart from the competition, and here’s why:

SoliBoard is produced on our continuous board line, measuring approximately 1200 feet in length and a fixed production width of 47-1/4 inch. This cutting-edge line, established in 2019, incorporates the latest standards and utilizes low-energy consumption drying technology, a unique advantage in our industry. This enables us to deliver exceptional quality while maintaining high output capabilities.

Our highly efficient drying technology reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional forced air drying methods. It empowers us to manufacture uniform, lightweight, low shot, and stable boards up to 4 inch in thickness, consistently meeting the highest standards of quality and performance. In a world where reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions is part of sustainable environmental drivers, it is good to realise that we have already taken the first step.

In the SoliBoard product range, SoliBoard ZR-grade is our highest temperature Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF) board, rated up to 2600°F1430°C (2600°F), designed for a wide range of applications with continuous operating temperatures of up to 2400°F. Its secure chemical composition, utilizing SoliBulk ZR as the main raw material, combined with advanced production technologies, results in a SoliBoard with precise thickness tolerance and exceptional flatness. Compared to other board types, SoliBoard offers higher strength and improved machining characteristics for CNC cutting.

SoliBoard ZR-grade benefits from the Ultra Low Shot spinning technology, originally developed for our low bio persistence fiber products. By incorporating Generation III Ultra Low Shot fiber technology into our Refractory Ceramic Fiber products, we deliver superior thermal efficiency, increased strength, and improved handling.

Vulcor provides an extensive range of high-temperature board products, including:

  • Standard boards
  • Inorganic binder boards which give lower LOI% and off-gassing
  • High-strength series with superior green strength and post-firing strength
  • Special series made from mixed fiber chemistries, often utilizing highly temperature-resistant PCW fibers, for the most demanding applications.

All standard board formulations include a small amount of organic binder to enhance cold handling strength, which burns out during the initial firing at approximately 500°F.

Benefits

  • Excellent insulation performance
  • High handling strength
  • Resistant to erosion from high gas velocities
  • Can be used in direct flame contact
  • Low shrinkage
  • Excellent thermal stability

Typical applications

  • Thermal insulation for furnace linings
  • High temperature back-up insulation for ladles and torpedo cars
  • Tundish and launder covers in the casting of various alloys
  • Insulation in tunnel kiln and holding furnaces for the ceramic industry
  • Lining combustion chamber for gas fired boilers and heaters
  • General technical insulation of furnaces and technical installations
