SoliBlanket X-Grade

SoliBlanket X-Grade

SoliBlanket™ X-Grade

Our standard Refractory Ceramic Fiber blanket range consists of 2 types, with a classification temperature of 1260°C and 1430°C. SoliBlanket X-grade is our standard RCF blanket, has a classification temperature of 1260°C , and is recommended for use in temperatures up till 1100°C continuously. Together with the SoliBlanket ZR-grade these two product fill the majority of the applications where Refractory Ceramic Fiber Blankets are still required.

SoliBlanket X-grade is setting a new standard for a classic RCF blanket. Manufactured using the latest spinning technology it is delivering a better performance than any other traditional refractory ceramic fiber blankets. You can feel the difference by just working with the product, but the technology behind is doing much more than that. Better thermal insulation, higher strength and more resiliency when converting to fiber modules.

We are proud being the first large scale manufacturer of Generation III fibers, a technology also known as Ultra Low Shot (ULS) spinning. Before our SoliBlanket X-grade, low shot fiber technology was destignated for low bio persistence fibers only and refractory ceramic fiber (RCF) did not see much innovation for many years, but with the SoliBlanket X-grade this has changed.

With our production technology break through we are able to bring low shot technology to our Refractory Ceramic Fiber blankets as well. Actually,  SoliBlanket X-grade is one of the products taking most benefit of the Ultra Low Shot fiber technology. As a result,  compared to a Generation I or Generation II technology high temperature fiber, the SoliBlanket X-grade is providing a better thermal insulation, a higher mechanical strength and an improved handling.

Recent testing proved that the tensile strength of our SoliBlanket X-grade, using Generation III technology, is minimum 30 % higher than any of the ‘other brands’. The resiliency after compression, which is particularly important when making (stack or folded) fiber modules, is  best in class. And this is just focussing on the the mechnical aspects of our fiber.

As we believe that reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions in the production process will become part of sustainable environmental drivers, thermal insulating properties will become more important. SoliBlanket X-grade, benchmarked against several other standard RCF blankets, resulted in thermal conductivities up to 36 % better than some Generation I products @ 1000°C. Another great benefit of the Ultra Low Shot technology used for manufacturing our SoliBlanket X-grade.

SoliBlanket X-grade is part of the SoliBlanket product range. With a variety of four Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF) grades and the famous ‘ULS®’ Low Bio Persistence Fiber grade we are offering one of the most extensive ranges of high temperature fiber blankets in the market today. With our  different chemical compositions we are able to provide a solution to nearly every atmosphere or temperature.
