Description
Introducing Vulcor’s SoliBoard range, manufactured on our state-of-the-art production line, a result of years of expertise and engineering excellence. Our manufacturing process sets us apart from the competition, and here’s why:
SoliBoard is produced on our continuous board line, measuring approximately 400 meter in length and a fixed production width of 1200 mm. This cutting-edge line, established in 2019, incorporates the latest standards and utilizes low-energy consumption drying technology, a unique advantage in our industry. This enables us to deliver exceptional quality while maintaining high output capabilities.
Our highly efficient drying technology reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional forced air drying methods. It empowers us to manufacture uniform, lightweight, low shot, and stable boards up to 100 mm in thickness, consistently meeting the highest standards of quality and performance. In a world where reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions is part of sustainable environmental drivers, it is good to realise that we have already taken the first step.
SoliBoard HT-grade stands out with its unique composition. By using our 1300°C rated SoliBulk HP-grade fibers, we have increased the classification temperature of SoliBoard HT-grade to 1400°C without the need for zirconia. In result, SoliBoard HT-grade is an unique and economical attractive alternative to the SoliBoard ZR-grade and other types of RCF-Zr based boards.
SoliBoard is produced with a very tight thickness tolerance and offer unparalleled flatness. As a result the SoliBoard, compared to other types of board, offers better machining characteristics in CNC cutting. With SoliBoard you can easily tailor the board into a precision machined shapes for domestic boilers and heater.
Vulcor provides an extensive range of high-temperature board products, including:
- Standard boards
- Inorganic binder boards which give lower LOI% and off-gassing
- High-strength series with superior green strength and post-firing strength
- Special series made from mixed fiber chemistries, often utilizing highly temperature-resistant PCW fibers, for the most demanding applications.
All standard board formulations include a small amount of organic binder to enhance cold handling strength, which burns out during the initial firing at approximately 250°C.
Benefits
- Low shot technology
- Excellent insulation performance
- High handling strength
- Resistant to erosion from high gas velocities
- Can be used in direct flame contact
- Low shrinkage
- Excellent thermal stability
- Resistant to thermal shock
Typical applications
- Thermal insulation for furnace linings
- High temperature back-up insulation for ladles and torpedo cars
- Tundish and launder covers in the casting of various alloys
