SoliBlanket HA-grade is exclusively developed on request of Vulcor to offer a 1370°C rated high temperature fiber blanket, without the use of zirconia. The high alumina content does not only improve the classification temperature, but also makes the fiber more stable in application with exposure to alkali. Testing at end customers in the USA has proven that the lifetime compared to a zirconia blanket in an application which was high in alkali was nearly doubled.
In normal production operations a spun fiber with such high alumina contents would be hard to manufacture. Typically, these type of products are offered in a ‘blown’-fiber technology which create a high shot and pretty coarse blanket. Utilizing our unique Ultra Low Shot technology we have been able to offer you this new product in a much improved version to what has been supplied in the market today.
SoliBlanket HA-grade is our one of our special grade refractory ceramic fiber blankets in the SoliBlanket product range. The high classification temperature is the result of the high alumina content of the fiber. The SoliBlanket HA-grade has a classification temperature of 1370°C and is engineered to perform in a wide range of applications up till 1200°C continuously.
The Soliblanket HA-grade is stronger, feels more comfortable to handle and provides better thermal insulation than ‘blown’ fibers in a similar chemical composition. During installation our ULS technology fiber products offer a higher resiliency after compression, which is particularly important when making fiber modules or in case the blanket (strip) is installed perpendicular to the main fiber orientation, or in easier words; stack(bonded).
SoliBlanket HA-grade is part of the special grade Refractory Ceramic Fiber product range. The full SoliBlanket product range consists of five grades of Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF) and one grade in Low Bio Persistence (LBP) fiber blanket.
