SoliBoard ULS-Grade

SoliBoard ULS-Grade

SoliBoard™ ULS®-Grade

With pride we introduce our standard low bio persistence fiber based based SoliBoard™ product range. Manufactured utilizing our  Generation III, Ultra Low Shot, technology these boards are delivering a better performance compared to traditional ceramic fiber or other low bio persistence fiber based boards. SoliBoard™ can be used for a wide range of application in refractory linings or in domestic appliances. With classification temperatures of 2200°F and 2400°F respectively, SoliBoard™ standard bio products can be used for a wide range of application in refractory linings or condensing boilers.

SoliBoard™ ULS® is our general purpose high temperature board manufactured from our 2300°F rated SoliWool™ ULS® fiber and carefully selected fillers. Targeted to deliver high strength and performance in refractory linings, but is also populair for use in domestic boilers.

Description

Introducing Vulcor’s SoliBoard range, manufactured on our state-of-the-art production line, a result of years of expertise and engineering excellence. Our manufacturing process sets us apart from the competition, and here’s why:

SoliBoard is produced on our continuous board line, measuring approximately 1200 feet in length and a fixed production width of 47-1/4 inch. This cutting-edge line, established in 2019, incorporates the latest standards and utilizes low-energy consumption drying technology, a unique advantage in our industry. This enables us to deliver exceptional quality while maintaining high output capabilities.

Our highly efficient drying technology reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to conventional forced air drying methods. It empowers us to manufacture uniform, lightweight, low shot, and stable boards up to 4 inch in thickness, consistently meeting the highest standards of quality and performance. In a world where reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions is part of sustainable environmental drivers, it is good to realise that we have already taken the first step.

In the SoliBoard product range, SoliBoard™ ULS® is our general purpose high temperature board manufactured from our 2300°F rated SoliWool™ ULS® fiber and carefully selected fillers. Engineered to perform in a wide range of applications up till 2000°F continuously.

SoliBoard ULS, even the name in honoring our Ultra Low Shot spining technology, which is commonly used for the production of our fiber products. SoliBoard is produced with a very tight thickness tolerance and offer unparalleled flatness. As a result the SoliBoard, compared to other types of board, offers better machining characteristics in CNC cutting. With SoliBoard you can easily tailor the board into a precision machined shapes for domestic boilers and heater.

Vulcor provides an extensive range of high-temperature board products, including:

  • Standard boards
  • Inorganic binder boards which give lower LOI% and off-gassing
  • High-strength series with superior green strength and post-firing strength
  • Special series made from mixed fiber chemistries, often utilizing highly temperature-resistant PCW fibers, for the most demanding applications.

All standard board formulations include a small amount of organic binder to enhance cold handling strength, which burns out during the initial firing at approximately 500°F.

Benefits

  • Low shot technology
  • Excellent insulation performance
  • High handling strength
  • Resistant to erosion from high gas velocities
  • Can be used in direct flame contact
  • Low shrinkage
  • Excellent thermal stability
  • Resistant to thermal shock
  • Exonerated of carcinogenic classification under Note Q

Typical applications

  • Thermal insulation for furnace linings
  • High temperature back-up insulation
  • Lining combustion chamber for domestic boilers and heaters
  • General technical insulation of furnaces andtechnical installations

Type

Boards from high temperature Low Bio Persistence insulation wool and selected fillers.

Temperature range

SoliBoard ULS-grade is based on the 2300°F rated SoliWool ULS-grade. As we hold our converted products to a tighter PLC% (shrinkage) criteria the SoliBoard ULS-grade has a classification temperature of 2300°F It is advised for maximum continuous use at 2000°F.

The maximum continuous use temperature provided on the website is a guideline and only applicable in a clean oxidizing atmosphere.
